Billings and pre-tax profits have risen at a Rutland-based logistics company, according to new documents, despite the business operating against a “backdrop of dramatically changing economic conditions.”
CS Ellis (Holdings), based in South Luffenham, has over 80 years’ experience of providing transport and logistics services, operating from four sites in the East Midlands.
The company has reported turnover of £27.3m for the year to June 30, 2022, up from £23.5m in 2021.
Pre-tax profits rose from £1.4m to £1.8m over the same period.
A statement signed by the board read: “The directors are pleased with what they consider to be a very good set of results produced in a difficult year against a backdrop of dramatically challenging economic conditions.
“The four business ventures – CS Ellis Group, Pacwolf Fulfillment, Versatile Venues and Rutland Water Garden Nursery – focused on improving operational efficiencies while reducing excess costs.
“They all faced common challenges with the rising rate of inflation leading to rising cost of living and the ongoing process of retaining and hiring good people.”
