Take the first step to be your own boss at SERC
For anyone who has ever dreamed of being their own boss but didn’t know how to do it, SERC invites you to take that first step with its new short course that offers training, support, and a Level 2 qualification to help you get up and running.
Dearbhla Knight, Senior Innovation Advisor at SERC, said: “Fully funded through the Department of Economics Skill Up, the 10-week course leads to an OCN Tier 2 Award in innovation and business in practice.
“It is being delivered to SERC’s Newcastle campus.
“The program runs every Monday morning from January 16 to March 27 and offers additional support in the form of free childcare at our Little SERC nursery while parents/guardians attend the course.
Dearbhla added: “The course is ideal for someone who may have a business idea they want to get off the ground and taking this first step could be exactly what they need to turn a dream into reality.
“The course is run by experienced tutors and advisers who will provide advice on all the steps required to start a business.
“With more people than ever starting new businesses in Northern Ireland, the program aims to support people who are currently out of work.”
There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification; however, students must be at least 16 years old.
“The course is also suitable for anyone wishing to progress to a higher level qualification in innovation, enterprise or business.
