“After touching Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s feet, Chirag came to me and touched my feet too. I blessed him. After all, Chirag is like my son. This does not mean that the two of us have reached a truce,” Paras told reporters here.
“I will be running in the upcoming Hajipur Lok Sabha elections. Of the two LJP factions, I am the loyal constituent of the NDA. If anyone else (read Chirag) also wants to be in the field there, let him come,” Paras said.
Paras claimed that the LJP (Ram Vilas) group is not the actual component of the NDA, even if Chirag was invited to the alliance meeting in Delhi on July 18.
Paras alleged that Chirag had shown “lack of political character” during the 2020 assembly elections, when he resigned from the NDA and fielded LJP candidates against JD(U) and BJP.
“We opposed the JPL leaving the NDA in 2020, but he (Chirag) made the decision alone and rejected our opinion,” Paras said.
However, the minister added that he would await what Prime Minister Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah and BJP National Chairman JP Nadda have to say on the matter.
