FTI Consulting incorporates a duo into the corporate finance and restructuring division

Global professional services firm FTI Consulting has strengthened its Corporate Finance & Restructuring division in Asia with two senior appointments: Tadashi Yamazaki (Japan) and May Yee Koay (Singapore).

Both seasoned professionals join the global consulting firm as Managing Director, with Yamazaki adding depth to M&A and transaction offerings, while Koay specializes in restructuring and insolvency engagements.

“We are delighted that Tadashi and May Yee have joined FTI Consulting at an important time in our growth in Asia,” said Vincent Fok, Asia Director of FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance and Restructuring division. “Their appointments strengthen our ability to support our customers across Asia and are an integral part of our continued growth trajectory in the market.”

An engineer by training, Yamazaki brings more than 25 years of consulting and transaction advisory experience in business processes, supply chain management, and intellectual property environments across a variety of industries. He has supported leading Nikkei 100 and venture capital companies throughout his career, with a focus on clients in the telecommunications, media, technology, manufacturing, automotive and healthcare industries.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Yamazaki was a leader in EY’s Transaction Advisory Services team, where he supported clients with IP due diligence, valuation, and post-merger integration.

Yamazaki previously founded his own consulting firm specializing in new business management and product development, intellectual property, market strategy, and supply chain management for major Japanese publicly traded companies, venture firms, and investment funds.

Meanwhile, Koay brings more than 15 years of experience in financial restructuring, corporate recovery and transaction advisory to the US-based firm.

He has extensive experience in the financial and operational management of distressed companies, having worked on numerous major debt and insolvency restructuring assignments spanning court-ordered and voluntary liquidations, receivership appointments, receivership appointments, settlement scheme, consensual restructuring and complex crossing. border appropriations related to the US Chapter 11 bankruptcy regime.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Koay was a director within the restructuring and insolvency practice at KPMG.

Throughout his career, Koay has dealt extensively with complex cross-border engagements, with his international coverage including the Singapore, Indonesia, US, UK, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indian and Chinese

In addition to transaction and restructuring work, FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring division also offers deals for business transformations and investigations.
