BENGALURU: A 19 year old Technology B (computer science) student of PES University, hosakerehallijumped to his death from the eighth floor of a building on campus after he was allegedly caught committing malpractice during a test on Monday.

University staff told police that Prabhu, a first-semester student, was caught with a mobile phone inside the exam hall.
“At around 11:30am, the supervisor saw Prabhu using the phone inside the room. The supervisor grabbed him and took Prabhu to an adjoining room, where he was reportedly counseled by other faculty members. Ganesh Prabhu, Aditya’s father and an employee of a private company, filed a complaint against the university management, the principal and other staff, blaming them for the death.
“He was caught using a phone to allegedly commit a malpractice. The supervisor had stopped him and they called his parents. The parents were supposed to arrive and that’s when he took the extreme step. Police say it’s due to malpractice in the test. We go by what the police say,” said a spokesperson for the PES University.
