Business News | Adani Green Energy records a 9% increase in solar power and a 47% increase in wind power sales during the third quarter

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India]Jan 23 (ANI) — Adani Green Energy on Monday posted a 9 percent increase in the sale of its solar portfolio to 2.507 million units for the quarter ending December 2022, up from 2.3 billion units.

The renewable energy company said this increase in power sales was supported by 150 MW commissioned in Rajasthan in November 2022 and a 140 basis point improvement in capacity utilization factor (CUF).

In the solar portfolio, the availability of the plant was 99.8% in the revised quarter compared to 99.4% in the same period of the previous year. The availability of the network was 99.6 percent, while in the same period of the previous year it was 99.3 percent.

It also said that the capacity utilization factor was 23.3 percent in the revised quarter, while it was 21.9 percent in the same period a year earlier.

The company said its improved CUF performance was supported by a 40 bps improvement in plant availability, a 30 bps improvement in grid availability and better solar irradiation.

In the wind power portfolio, the company posted a 47 percent increase in its power sales to 300 million units for the revised quarter, up from 204 million units in the corresponding quarter of the prior year.

In a statement shared with the exchanges, the company said its power sales increased due to increasing its capacity from 497 MW to 971 MW in the prior-year period.

In wind power, its plant availability was 92.7 percent in the revised quarter, while in the corresponding quarter of the prior year it was 96.9 percent. The availability of its network was 88.2%, compared to 99.9% in the same period of the previous year.

The CUF return under the wind portfolio was 14 percent in the revised quarter, while it was 18.6 percent in the same period a year earlier.

The company said that the reduction in CUF is mainly due to a one-time interruption in the transmission line of the 150 MW plant in Gujarat, which has now been fully restored.

The impact of this event during the quarter is expected to be 0.1 percent of the expected annual generation of overall operating capacity. (AND ME)
